Radnor Street, Indooroopilly - Flood Damage Reconstruction

Project Description

The Radnor Street (Stage 1) contract was awarded to Moggill Constructions Pty Ltd following an open tender to reconstruct the flood damaged suburban road in an environmentally sensitive area whilst maintaining single lane traffic flow.

The works included:

Establishing environmental controls within the sensitive creek (adjacent to the Brisbane River) appropriate for the construction methodology adopted for these works;
Creating access for equipment and materials within this sensitive zone.
Placing these blocks to the design profile with associated protective treatments and back of wall drainage;
Reinstatement of roadworks to original alignment.

Specific Issues Relevant to this Project:

  • Construction adjacent to and within environmentally sensitive wetlands;
  • Working within the creek bed to establish firm bed and rock toe for retaining structure.
  • Transporting blocks (standard and specials) down embankment and placing in curbed profile;
  • Maintaining traffic flow around the worksite
  • Meeting tight timeframes set by the Client for completion of the works.
